Valentine's Day is right around the corner, and you're panicking because you haven't found the right gift for your significant other.

The struggle with V-day is real. Gifts are supposed to say we made the effort, that we took our time. We want them to be special, but we don't want our bank accounts broken.

Sick of chocolates and $100 roses?

These simple DIY presents will definitely make your life easier.

1. Jars full of love

For starters, you'll need a jar. The content is all up to you. Suggestions for that include quotes from you're significant other's favorite poet, or favorite song lyrics. You could even write little notes for your better half to read each day as a constant reminder of your love.

Need some extra inspiration? We recommend Nizar Qabbani timeless poetry.

You could also use colored paper to make it prettier, or anything that gives it that extra dose of love.

2. Mixtapes/CDs

Mixtapes or CDs have been the go-to DIY gift since before DIYs even existed.

If you're a classic, we recommend you put together a list of your partner's favorite songs.

I know this is a given, but seriously, no break up songs.

3. Shoelace bracelet

Got worn out shoes? Great, take the shoelaces and weave your very own shoelace bracelet.

I know it doesn't seem like much, but you need to know really advanced knots (that you can look up on YouTube) to be able to create it.

If you really put in the effort, these creations can turn into masterpieces!

4. Hand warmers

With these cold storms brewing, everyone needs hand warmers (especially when you're not there to hold his/her hand).

I know it sounds complicated, but for hand warmers all you need is basic sewing skills and rice!

Find out how to make them here.

5. Personalized Calendar

Considering it's still pretty early in the year, why not make a calendar for your Valentine containing pictures of the both of you, or things the other person likes a lot.

Make it fun, make it personal, and it could make your significant other's year.

You might need the help of a printing house with this one though.

6. Keyboard tiles

Does your S.O have a love for funky things? Then this idea is great, and oh, so simple!

Instead of typing out a message, how about you use the actual tiles in a keyboard? It comes out great and extremely original.

You need a frame, keyboard, a screwdriver and some glue. Find out how to make them here.

P.S. If you don't have an old keyboard, you could use Scrabble tiles or even a typewriter, if you love the person that much.
