The first photograph was taken in the early 1800s. A few decades later, photography had reached Egypt.

These images show a unique overview of a transforming culture and society, providing us with a glimpse into a fascinating past. During this time, Egypt was ruled by the Muhammad Ali Pasha dynasty, which lasted from 1805 to 1953.
