From dressing leading Hollywood A-listers on red carpets to showcasing their work at international fashion weeks, Arab designers are leaving their mark on the global fashion scene.

They're the talented trendsetters of the region, the trailblazers of the industry. 

So without further ado, here are a few Arab designers that make us proud! 

1. Elie Saab - Lebanon

Saab is a star in the global fashion industry.  

The self taught fashion magnate began making dresses for his sisters at the age of 9.

He launched his career in 1982, at the age of 18, opening a couture atelier in Beirut.

His incredible talent led to immediate success which crossed Beirut's borders. In 2000 he was invited by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture to show in Paris. He became a member of the syndicate in 2006.

Saab has showcased his collections at fashion weeks around the world.

A favorite among A-listers, Saab has dressed well known celebrities including, Halle Berry, Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Lopez, Scarlet Johannson, Angelina Jolie and many others.

Saab also opened flagship stores in many countries including the U.S, and launched the "Elie Saab" fragrance line.

2. Abed Mahfouz - Lebanon

Mahfouz launched his career in 2001, his first collection "Al-Halimah" or "The Dreamer" was focused on bridal wear. Its success eventually catapulted him into the world of couture.

Mahfouz showcased his first couture collection at Rome's Alta Roma Fashion week and continues to present his collections there every year.

Within a few years of launching his brand, he became a household name, gaining international acclaim.

In 2009, the designer launched a luxurious evening ready-to-wear line during the New York Fashion Week.

Mahfouz has dressed many celebrities including, Carrie Underwood, Elizabeth Banks, Natasha Bedingfield, Nicole Scherzinger and Selena Gomez.

Mahfouz designed the first ever soap dress, which was showcased during Fashion Forward Dubai

In collaboration with "Lux," Mahfouz designed the world's first soap dress.

The dress draws inspiration from various "Lux" fragrances.

3. Farida Temraz - Egypt

Farida Temraz is the founder and manager of the Egyptian haute-couture brand Temraza.

She launched her line in December 2012, and has gone on to become an internationally acclaimed designer.

Her collections have made it to several fashion weeks, including London and Paris. Her most recent collection, "The Xecutive," was presented at the 2017 New York fashion week.

Temraz has also dressed celebrities for many award shows and events, including Carrie Underwood at the CMT awards, Laura Bell Bundy at the 2016 SAG Awards and Teni Panosian at a 2016 Oscar viewing party.

4. Rami Al Ali - Syria

Al Ali was born in Syria where in 1991 he joined the College of Fine Arts to study Visual Communications. His graduation project was a fashion show that astonished his professors.

After his graduation in 1995, the designer traveled to the United Arab Emirates, a place that would provide him with international experience at luxurious fashion houses. It is there where he quickly began to make a name for himself in the industry, launching his own brand in 2000.

The brand took off and slowly began to grow, but his breakthrough came in 2009 when his Spring/Summer couture collection showcased at Rome's Alta Roma fashion week.

Since then, Al Ali has become a true global trendsetter with collections appearing at Paris Fashion Week and many others.

He has also dressed celebrities including Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez.

5. Sheikha Noor & Sheikha Haya Al Khalifa - Bahrain

Sheikha Noor Rashid Al Khalifa and Sheikha Haya Mohammed Al Khalifa founded Noon By Noor in 2008.

The cousins studied Fashion Design in the United States and brought their vision to life with the launch of their women wear brand.

In 2011, Noon by Noor launched internationally in Los Angeles and in February 2012 the designers showcased their Fall 2012 collection during the New York Fashion week.

Ever since the brand has been growing and is now considered one of the top Arab international fashion brands.

"The duo’s designs have been seen on the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Solange Knowles, Alexa Chung, Kate Bosworth, Olivia Palermo, Blake Lively, Miroslava Duma, Katy Perry and Coco Rocha," according to the brand's website.

6. Ashi Studio (Mohammed Ashi) - Saudi Arabia

In 2007, Saudi Arabian Mohammed Ashi launched his studio "Ashi" in Beirut, Lebanon.

In the few years after its launch the brand has gained international success.

Speaking to Bespoke Magazine Ashi says, “my work represents the vision of artists and designers in the Middle East who try to escape from their world into a fantasy where they can find their sensibility and express their imagination."

The studio has dressed celebrities from around the world including Sonam Kapoor and Lady Gaga.

7. Zuhair Murad - Lebanon

Murad launched his first atelier in Beirut in 1997.

For the first few years the atelier catered to private clientele, but in 2001 Murad gained international fame when one of his collections was presented at the Couture Week in Paris.

In the years that followed, his brand continued to achieve one success after the other.

Today, his work is showcased at fashion events around the world and his creations are worn by A-listers including, Faith Hill, Celine Dion, Mila Kunis, Jessica Biel and Heidi Klum.

Murad has also launched a ready to wear line and now owns stores and offices in many countries around the world, including France and Britain.

In 2012, he became a member of the supervisory board of the Chambre syndicale de la Haute couture in Paris.
