The thought of 3D printing has dazzled many minds for the past few years. And because the possibilities are endless with this amazing technological advancement, everyone related to it differently. With prosthetic legs, optical aid devices and architectural models now being a click away, and for fractions of their price in the market, a lot of people have so much hope for a better world. Yet for others, all that the world needs is chocolate. We can't argue with that.
Whether you’re a chocolatier or a chocolate fanatic who has a lot of cash at hand, Choc Creator V2 is hands down the machine you should add to your 2015 purchase list. And yes, V2 indicates that it’s the better, cooler and developed version of the first Choc Creator which was released back in 2012 to be the world’s first commercial 3D chocolate printer.
So what’s the deal with this 3D chocolate printer anyway?
Similar to any 3D printer, Choc Creator V2 imports a Computer Aided Design (CAD) through a USB connection, and then fabricates, or prints the 3D chocolate models one horizontal cross-section layer at a time. The process is repeated until you get the desired thickness, and voila, the 3D chocolate model you’ve been designing for hours, or days, is ready to be munched at in probably less than a few minutes.
Even though this may come off as a rather hefty investment at a price tag of $6,200, it’s actually going to save you a lot of money you would have otherwise spent on expensive chocolate molding tools.
Dr Liang Hao, Choc Edge’s founder, said : “Since we launched the original Choc Creator two years ago we’ve been constantly striving to develop the technology to make it even easier to use, so it can create ever-more stunning 3D and 2D designs in chocolate.”
Much like its predecessor, the Choc Creator V2 disperses chocolate through an easy to use syringe which can be refilled with any kind, and any color of chocolate, in less than 10 minutes. But unlike the V1, the new Choc Creator allows for much finer chocolate lines which range from 0.45mm to 1.3mm, which ensures highly detailed and flawless 3D chocolate models.
Not only so, but the new addition to the Choc Creator line also ensures temperature stability at around 30-32°C which guarantees a smooth 3D printing process for a longer duration without any undesired solidifying chocolate.
Hao added : “We were thrilled that we gained a worldwide following for the Choc Creator, and believe we helped to bring the fantastic technology behind 3D printing to a wider audience.”
We can barely wait.
