Long hailed as an amazing vacation getaway for both natives and tourists from all around the world, Egypt is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Their scenery includes crystal clear blue waters, amazing coral reefs, surreal deserts and majestic mountains.
And now, with temperatures quickly rising and the summer vacation starting soon, it might be the perfect time to visit some of the breathtaking destinations along Egypt's Red Sea and Mediterranean costs.
1. The Sunken City of the Sahl Hasheesh Bay
The Sahl Hasheesh Bay offers one of the longest stretches of swimmable beach on Egypt’s Red Sea coast, and it is also the place where ancient pharaonic monuments that used to belong to an ancient city were submerged under the Red Sea waters thousands of years ago, creating an incredible snorkeling experience.
2. The Blue Hole in Dahab
This extraordinary (and underrated) diving and snorkeling location on the Red Sea is one of the few underwater sinkholes in the world, and it contains a 26 meter long tunnel called "the arch," whose top is at a depth of 56 meters.
3. El Nayzak in Marsa Alam
This perfectly secluded beach consists of a natural pool on the Red Sea, and it got the name "nayzak," which is Arabic for meteor, because the story goes that it was formed when a meteor struck the area.
4. The Fjord Bay in Taba
Located 15 kilometers south of Taba, this breathtaking beach is virtually untouched, with its amazingly clear waters, mountain scene and rich marine life.
5. Agiba Beach in Marsa Matrouh
Located 24 kilometers west of Marsa Matrouh on the Mediterranean Sea, this beach’s turquoise waters and unique location offer a spectacular experience that truly make it an "agiba," which is Arabic for miracle.
6. Ras Shaitan between Taba and Nuweibaa
This completely secluded beach on the Red Sea is mostly known to divers only and travelers who like want some isolation, as it only contains camps and the beautiful Red Sea Mountains.
7. Soma Bay near Hurghada
This luxurious resort destination is located in a small peninsula on the Red Sea that is only accessed via a 7 kilometer private road with a single controlled entry gate, offering complete seclusion from the outside world.
