No one knows their meat better than us Jordanians no matter how it’s cooked or what kind of cut it is. We know good meat when we taste it. That's why Amman has a huge number of restaurants each claiming to have the best steak in town.
But truth to be told, I've lived in this country for a long time, and trying to definitively decide what the best steak joint really is ain't easy.
This is where all you Jordanian meat lovers rejoice. A few of these are new, and you really need to know about them:
1. Lucca’s Steakhouse is the first and only real steakhouse in Jordan
Lucca’s are the new kids on the block. They're also Jordan’s first and only official proper steakhouse. It's the only place in the Kingdom that age meat using custom made fridges built specifically to give you succulent meat.
2. Chestnut has a divine Angus beefsteak
This place set the bar really high for other bars in town in terms of bar food. Their Angus beefsteak is to die for! And if you stop by during their hungry hour everyday from 12-6 pm, you get 50% discount on every order.
We recommend the rosemary sauce to go with your delicious steak!
3. Cloud for juicy meat on a boiling hot stone
Ordering the steak is an experience you rarely get anywhere else, the chef visits the table and cooks the juicy meat on a boiling hot stone. A couple of minutes on each side and voila…your tastes buds are in for a treat!
4. The Library & Cigar Lounge for a dine and splurge
The Cigar Lounge at the Marriott hotel in Shmeisani serves premium and mouth-watering steaks but they don’t come cheap. If you’re looking to impress someone, the Cigar lounge is the place to be.
5. The Good Pub 's steak is a feast for the eyes
This Abdouni bar is actually one of the few places in town (apart from Chestnut) that serves delicious bar food. The steak comes on a huge cutting board with a side of sautéed vegetables and silky smooth mashed potatoes. Your eyes feast on the amazing presentation and your taste buds will tickle.
