With the new Pokemon Go  app taking over the lives of many people in the Middle East, children in Syria want you to think about them too.

Syrian children are holding pictures of Pokemon characters as their photos are taken, asking the world to save them.

The Revolutionary Forces of Syria Media Office shared the children's photos holding the images with one clear message, "I am here, come save me."

Each of the posters states the location of the child alongside the message. The children reside in different towns throughout Syria.

"With the media spread wide for Pokemon game we decided to publish these images to highlight the suffering of the Syrian people from the bombing of the forces of order and Air-Assad to the Syrian people and besiege them," a spokesperson for the RFS told The Independent .

This is not the first initiative that uses the recent Pokemon craze to spread awareness about the severity of the Syrian crisis.

Syrian graphic designer  Saif Aldeen Tahhan created images using a "Syria Go" logo to show the impact the war has had on the people in the past five years.

Another artist, Khaled Akil, is also using Pokemon to show the world just how bad the kids in Syria have it.

As is Moustafa Jano, a Syrian who now lives in Sweden.

"I created these images as a way to turn attention to the Syrian cause and to focus on Syrian suffering instead of Pokémons (which people are crazy about NOW!)," he said, according to BBC Trending .
