Children at the 57357 Hospital for Cancer Treatment in Children received a much needed treat Wednesday when a bunch of young men dressed as superheroes came for a visit.
For children that rarely witness any acts of kindness, these volunteers helped paint a smile on their faces with a simple gesture that made them feel like kids again.
The 57357 relies solely on donations to treat countless of children who are suffering from all kinds of cancer. However, funding remains irregular as the majority of donations comes when people are feeling most generous, during the holy month of Ramadan.
For this reason, small initiatives launched by a group of youth who have nothing to give but genuine care and kindness mean a lot to the children, their families, and the hospital staff.
Perhaps spontaneous acts of kindness like this one would encourage others to do the same for the thousands of other children in hospitals and orphanages that are often forgotten about or neglected.
