A group of Saudi game developers is working on a multi-player game where two monsters hunt down two humans that are trying to reunite. Going by the name SOS: Shout of Survival, the team has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo .
Currently the game is being developed for the PC and Mac with gamepad support, and will be made available through Steam.
The campaign is a fixed-funding project, meaning it's a make it or break it type situation. The team will either reach their goal and move on with their developments or will fail and leave empty handed (hopefully that's not the case).
SOS's demo is live and ready. Users can try out a smaller version of the game on GAMEJOLT . Note that the demo is only a representation of what the game would potentially look like. A bunch of features including levels, customization options, animations and more are not included in the demo.
You may be wondering why the team is following an early access funding model.
"Early Access is especially important for games with a strong multiplayer component, to ensure a robust online experience, but also to balance and tweak the gameplay. The only way to achieve this is by getting feedback from lots of players," the team says on the Indiegogo page .
Considering developing games requires a lot of research and development prior to being heavily marketed, the team is looking to raise funds as early as possible to reduce those risks and challenges.
"The game has already gone through lots of development cycles and is already in production, so risks within the game itself should be minimum and close to none. However, our highest concern is not getting funded to continue development on the game. We want to present the game in the way we really want it to be."
