Banks in Saudi Arabia and the UAE are leading The Banker 's Bank Safety Ranking for 2015, with Saudi Arabia taking the top spot. This is the publication's first list.
The ranking analyzes the world's largest 250 banks according to several indices to gauge their financial stability. Gulf banks, including in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar, made the top of the list, while European banks' positions have weakened due to the different crises the countries have experienced.
The list counted 20 Arab banks, seven of them were from the UAE, and eight from Saudi Arabia.
