When the UAE is brought up, people's minds automatically rush to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It's unfortunate that some of the other lesser-known emirates don't get as much attention. Stretching from the coastal mangroves lining the shores of the Arabian Gulf to the fertile oasis, Umm Al-Quwain is a must-see for every traveler inside and outside the region.
The name of the emirate is derived from the Arabic Umm Al Quwatain, meaning "mother of two powers," referring to the powerful seafaring tradition of this emirate. If you're looking to reconnect with nature and tradition, this is definitely the place you want to be.
1. The emirate is home to seven different islands

It is a legendary institution for craftsmen to build traditional wooden boats by hands.
