If you live in Qatar and are craving more green spaces, here is some good news.
A senior official at the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning has said the country will soon get 55 new parks and gardens, according to Doha News. And the best part? WiFi everywhere!
Not only will Qatar be getting more green areas to relax and enjoy some fresh air, instead of AC, residents will also be able to cut down on their data consumption while outside. So, you'll be able to upload all your selfies laying on the grass, sitting on the bench, taking a leisurely stroll, etc. without consuming any of your precious gigabytes.
The ministry also plans to upgrade existing parks and gardens by fixing areas where lighting is poor and adding play areas for children.
Of course, Qatar isn't a stranger to WiFi enabled outdoor spaces. Several parks throughout the emirate have included complimentary Internet access for a while now. The latest announcement also added that the goal is to add WiFi capabilities to all existing parks and gardens throughout the country.
Still, we have to wonder about how much water it will take to keep all those green spaces looking, well, green. Qatar is already known to consume a rather high amount of water but hey, we're sure it will all get sorted.
