The first public screening of the late Omar Sharif's last film, " 1001 Inventions and the World of Ibn Haytham," will take place at the Dubai Film Festival in December.
Sharif, died in July of this year at the age of 83, came out of retirement to star in this much anticipated project. The film industry and fans of the beloved actor are giving their last bow to Sharif with two screenings at the festival, which runs from Dec. 9 to Dec.16.
The film, directed by award winning British national Ahmed Selim and produced by the U.K. and the U.A.E., memorializes Ibn Haytham, an 11th century philosopher and polymath dubbed as the "father of experimental physics."
“Ibn Al-Haytham’s inspirational life and his contributions to our world deserved to be appreciated by everyone especially the world of cinema and photography. This film attempts to honor his legacy and I hope it will engage the hearts and minds of millions of young people around the world,” Selim told Time Out Dubai .
