The latest leak from an upcoming prequel in Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed franchise, Assassin's Creed: Origins, reveals that the video game might possibly be set in Egypt.
The leak began making the rounds online late on Wednesday after a photo of the game's packaging was posted to Imgur, and it seems to confirm earlier reports of the news.
The game's logo is placed right in front of an Egyptian pyramid. The cover also features the Sphinx of Giza.
According to Egyptian Streets, a screenshot from a live demo of the game leaked in May had also indicated that it's set in the country, as it featured what observers described as a "'felucca'-type sailboat navigating through the Nile."

A rumor until further notice?
Both online and offline, many continue to doubt the authenticity of the recent leaks, especially given the fact that the latest one features an older Ubisoft logo.
However, according to Eurogamer, this detail doesn't delegitimize the news, which has fans buzzing.
Gamers will now have to wait until Ubisoft officially announces the release of the game's latest installment at a press briefing set for June 12.
