With social media on the rise, hashtags have become a huge trend. There are at least two bars in Beirut named Hashtag, in addition to many clothing items festooned with the words. And although we might not personally love the trend, it seems as if it is here to stay.
So, in case you missed them, here are eight most abused hashtags in 2014. You have nearly two weeks left to use them all.
1. #tbt
For all the throw backs on Thursday, we have one pressing questions: if you take a picture on Monday and post it on Thursday, is it still #tbt?
2. #selfie
No one is too famous to take a #selfie.
Or too old to take a #selfie.
It is safe to say we’ve all had our share of #selfies.
3. #swag
Anyone who is not Snoop Dog is not #swag.
This is a proof.
4. #baecaughtmesleeping
When bae catches you sleeping, how come you post it on the spot? This one is for all the sleeping beauties out there...
who are still awake enough to take a picture of themselves sleeping.
5. #baecaughtmeslippin
Of course there is an underground version of #baecaughtmesleeping. All good hashtags have hashtag spawn.
6. #nofilternomakeup
For all the gorgeous babes who go all natural on social media, this one is for you.
7. #workingout
Being healthy and fit has become a trend. No wonder we saw these hashtags all over social media throughout the past year.
And of course some of us never work out.
Some of us just need the motivation.
And others have gotten new leggings.
But it’s all really #workingout.
8. #bae
Doesn’t matter if you’re single or
emo,
you just gotta be #bae.
It was an awesome year of hashtags. We hope you stay #bae, keep #workingout with #nofilternomakeup and #tbt your #swag pictures @stepfeed.
