Prince Alwaleed bin Talal of Saudi Arabia, the richest Arab, and Donald Trump haven't exactly been on positive terms since Trump launched his inflammatory U.S. presidential bid.

However, Prince Alwaleed just took it to another level, perfectly schooling Trump with a strong dose of reality – a realm Trump often ignores.

In the midst of a dispute with right-wing American news channel FOX News – yes, even FOX News isn't crazy enough to stay in Trump's good graces – Trump tweeted an obviously photo-shopped image stating that the Saudi Prince co-owns the channel.

And how did the richest Arab respond? With all the dignity and class one would expect from a prince.

You see, Prince Alwaleed has actually been the financial savior of Trump at least two times.

  1. 1991: Prince Alwaleed bought Trumps yacht which had been turned over to creditors while the billionaire was $900 million in debt.
  2. 1995: Prince Alwaleed was part of the group that bought the Plaza Hotel in New York City, also paying off Trump's debt on the hotel.
, The New York Times referred to this as,
  1. "a defeat for the real estate developer."

Oh, and does Prince Alwaleed own FOX News? Well, he does own all of a 6 percent stake in 21st Century Fox, which owns FOX News.

Eds Note: This story originally said that Alwaleed owned 1 percent of News Corp, which is true, however, News Corp is not the parent company of Fox News. News Corp was split into two companies several years ago – and Fox News is a division of 21st Century Fox, which Alwaleed retains a substantial investment in, as the second largest shareholder.
