Mohamed Hamaki released a new single earlier this week in celebration of Egypt's win at the 2016 African Men's Handball Championship.
The pop star performed "Helm Ghaly" (Treasured Dream) at the closing ceremony of the championship, after Egypt beat its long-time African handball rival Tunisia in a Cairo stadium.
The Pharaohs won 21-19 following a grueling match, claiming their sixth African Cup of Nations and earning their tickets to the 2016 Olympic Games, which will be held next summer in Brazil's Rio de Janeiro.
"Helm Ghaly" features Hamaki singing Arabic, French, English and African lyrics, which were written by Amir Toa'ima, Sally Shouman and Jessy respectively.
In the song, which was composed by Sherif Badr, Hamaki expresses solidarity with the African nations as he welcomes Egypt's opponent to its land."Helm Ghaly" is the first release of new music from Hamaki since his latest studio album "Omroh Ma Yeghib" last August .
The singer made the entire album available to his fans on YouTube . The well-received album produced several hits such as the songs "Ma Balash," "Kan We Kan," "Baedna Eh," "Kanet Henak" and "Agmal Youm," for which Hamaki also released a popular music video.
