It's commonly known that when a villain comes to power, a hero will come to save us all.

Enter Kamala Khan, a.k.a. Ms. Marvel. She's Marvel's first Muslim American hero to headline her own comic, and she's the poster child of the protests against Trump's presidency.

Ms. Marvel was released in 2014, as a nerdy, sarcastic Pakistani-American teenager, with an extreme dedication to delivering justice. We're guessing Kamala wouldn't be too proud with the way her president is conducting business right now.

Back in 2015, Kamala was used to wipe away messages of hate that had appeared on buses in San Francisco. Racist ads had been promoted by an anti-Muslim group and she became the face of protest against Islamophobia.

And now, when we need a Muslim, dark-skinned, female superhero more than ever, Kamala is more than ready to play that role once more, and give hope those who need it.
