We've all witnessed the trend of wearable tech over the past couple years. But, one of the major pitfalls was the lack of appeal to fashionistas due to the wearables' lack of style. There have been quite a few successes after repeated trial and error, including Swarovski's Misfit Shine and the Fitbit collaboration with Tory Burch . Our region surely hasn't missed the wearable fashion trend, and there's one designer who is leading the scene.

Manaal Al Hammadi, a Dubai-based fashion designer, brings you solar-powered abayas, replacing electric sockets anytime, anywhere!

With the help of nanotechnology, Al Hammadi has integrated solar panels into her incredibly stylish abayas, making charging your electronics on-the-go as easy and green as ever.

The abaya has charging ports hidden in the front pocket of the abaya. So, once exposed to the sun, you'll be good to go.

No need to carry your charger anymore when you can just wear it!

The abayas are available in Dubai at The Fashion Vault in Sunset Mall. Al Hammadi showcased her abaya prototype at the Solar Expo during the World Energy Summit at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in January.
