The Lebanese always have something to complain about, especially if there's someone willing to listen.
With the recent road rage attack in Gemmayzeh that shook the Lebanese society, public debate about accountability and the rule of law spilled over to Twitter with the hashtag #LetMeSpeak becoming a trending topic in the country Monday.
The hashtag opened the floor for Lebanese to denounce the political vacuum that has swept up the country in a sectarian deadlock for more than 18 months, as parliamentarians have yet to elect a president to replace Michel Sleiman, who left office in May 2014.
"We are living in a [hypocritical] society."
"#LetMeSpeak about the war's [sectarian] leaders. Instead of being in jail, they're ruling over my country."
"#LetMeSpeak about the electoral law before the presidency"
"#LetMeSpeak about an ailing country"
"There's nothing more to say. We're fed up of talking in the era of lies."
"Enough with the lying, hypocrisy, and betrayal, really..."
