Inspired by elaborate culture and artistic detail, bustling environments and rich sensory experiences, Iyad Naja brings his expressive concepts to many creative disciplines. He received his BS degree in graphic design from the Lebanese American University (LAU) in 2000. Iyad Naja worked in advertising and became creative director at Intermarkets, but his passion lies in design and more specifically in Arabic Calligraphy. He believes Arabs have a heritage to be proud of, so let us celebrate it now and let it take form in canvas, fabric, wood, metal and other materials. Iyad Naja co-established a design firm in 2014 which is dedicated to product design and surface art: IN.

IN is a pinch of avant-garde with a good dose of heritage. It’s a dynamic message that mirrors the needs of present day life while uplifting the image of Arab heritage. Iyad Naja believes that media exposure and variety in choice, have driven Arabs to lose focus and have made “our identity become frail.” This is why every IN collection is an exhibition that showcases a stage, an emotion or a theme that is dominant.

To Iyad Naja, “design is the platform that presents the identity of a culture in a period of time, and what makes this a solid foundation is the authenticity from which the designer stems from.”
