Beauty and the Beast  is coming out soon, and we can't wait. Seriously.

In our attempt to shorten the time span, we decided to Lebanonize the French fairy-tale, because why the hell not!

Here's what Beauty and the Beast - 3al Lebnene would look like

Forget France, Belle is Jamilet Der el-Qamar

Yes, of course the fountain has something to do with it.

But, that's not all, Jamilla (Arabic for Belle) lives in Der el-Qamar, but seriously hates the patriarchy.

She wants to escape the town and be more than just a girl.

Lebanese actress Ward al-Khal would play the lead role, because it's all about the rose of course.

Jamilla's father is a quirky inventor, but we can't help but think of Fehman when we see him

Seriously, the resemblance is uncanny!

Maurice al-Fehman (a combination of both names) is a quirky inventor. His latest creation is an automatic koussa corer.

He's very much on Jamilla's side of things, and actually encourages her to chase her dreams. That's why he invents the machine, because ain't nobody got time for that!

Gaston is Gebran

Gebran is half-mashkalje, half-jagal, full time c-ass-anova, played by Mazen Moadam, the Casanova star. All the banet al-day3a think he's the best thing since khebez saj and have been trying to get him to propose to them for ages -- but not our girl.

Jamilla, being the smart woman that she is, doesn't care much for him. But, of course his ego just doesn't process her rejections - he just wants Jamilla at any price. Sound familiar ladies?

Who better to play Gebran's LeFou than Hicham Haddad

Do you see the similarities? Do you? Do you?

The jagal's sidekick (and comic relief) can only be played by Lebanon's Hicham Haddad. Yup, we can't think of anyone better.

So we all know what happens next

Maurice el-Fehman gets kidnapped on his way to an inventors convention by the Beast (aka el Wa7esh), Jamilla follows, the Beast keeps her in exchange for her father's freedom, Gebran rolls up his sleeves and drama, drama, drama.

Ya waylah!!!

The entire day3a (read: mob) led by Gebran heads up to Beittedine Palace where el Wa7esh lives

el Wa7esh and Gebran battle it out 3al balcon with a Dabke!

But, because happy endings aren't really our thing, Jamilla ends up with Gebran

And the Prince, aka Youssef al-Khal isn't too happy about it

Kidding, they all live happily ever after ... because Ward and Youssef together at the end would be too weird (and incestuous since they're brother and sister in real life)

Lebanese dramas FTW!
