Winner of the 1999 George Nelson Award, the 2001 Canadian Designer of the Year Award, and the 2012 Red Dot Award, this man is no stranger to international acclaim. In 2013 alone he swept up 13 awards and was a finalist 5 times. Industrial designer and interior architect, Karim Rashid is a major name in the design field. Raised in North America, Rashid was born in Cairo, Egypt and is half Egyptian, half English.

Always impeccably dressed in signature white or pink, this top notch designer is famous for adding his special touch to furniture, luxury goods, brand identity, lighting, surface design and packaging. According to his funky official website, he has “over 3000 designs in production, over 300 awards and [work] in over 40 countries [which] attest to Karim's legend of design.”

Let’s have a sneak peak at the wonders of Karim Rashid. Do these design treats live up to Rashid’s ‘Karimanifesto’? “Today poetic design is based on a plethora of complex criteria: human experience, social behaviors, global, economic and political issues, physical and mental interaction, form, vision, and a rigorous understanding and desire for contemporary culture” (Rashid).
