Hillary Clinton may have just won over thousands of American-Muslims with her latest campaign ad.
It features Gold Star father Khizr Khan, who made headlines with his speech chastising Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump at the U.S. Democratic National Convention. With sentimental background music, Khan narrates the story of his son Humayun Khan who died in the Iraq war.
He then poses a chills-inducing question: “I want to ask Mr Trump, would my son have a place in your America?”
“Captain Humayun Khan died serving his country—and saving his entire unit. Trump seems to think someone like him doesn’t belong in America,” Clinton tweeted.
The heartfelt video has garnered over a million views on YouTube in just four days.
Trump’s campaign has been characterized by anti-Muslim rhetoric as well as blatant xenophobia and overt sexism. On several occasions, Trump has called for a ban on Muslims entering the U.S. He has also been highly critical of Obama’s decision to accept a relatively small number of Syrian refugees.
