Where is our strong Arab disney princess? Where is the heroine little Arab girls can look up to?

And, no! Jasmine doesn't count; she's too much of a damsel in distress and we're so over that.

Luckily, I've seen a lot of Disney movies, and have done a lot of research on female characters that Disney should make their next warrior/princess.

Hey, Disney, if you're reading this, feel free to take any of these ideas (also, if you want to cast me as the leading lady, I would so not mind).

1. Cleopatra VII

We had to start with the obvious choice. As the last active Pharaoh of Ancient Egypt, she obviously has an extensive back story. Imagine a movie about how she stopped the Roman Empire from entering Egypt, for example.

A Disney movie about one of the most famous heroines in the Arab world might turn a few heads if researched and done properly. Can you imagine a Disney animated Cleopatra? And they could add her fabled love counterpart, Jason (who she eventually married) if they wanted to add a love story (not that she needed a man!l

2. Zenobia

After the assassination of her husband and stepson, Zenobia stepped in to become the ruler of Palmyrene Empire which is now Syria.

Within two years of her reign, she was fighting off advances from the Roman Empire and furthering the boundaries of her own kingdom through the invasion of Egypt and Anatolia. Though an experienced rider, she would walk long distances with her foot soldiers in solidarity, a demonstration that she was truly their warrior queen.

Zenobia: The Warrior Queen... That's a title just waiting to happen! Like Mulan, but not as a man. As a proud woman fighting and leading them to victory!

3. Lotfia ElNadi

Lotfia ElNadi was the first licensed Arab and Egyptian female pilot. She pursued her dreams despite her father's objections. She attended a flying school in Cairo and paid for her tuition through secretary work.

At 26, she flew a plane from Cairo to Alexandria, becoming the youngest woman to ever fly.

Lotfia is an inspiration to us all, and her story as a Disney movie could be so encouraging to little girls to follow their dreams, despite the naysayers.
