With the continuous political instability taking a toll on lives of people from all over the Middle East, one boy's family is asking you to help bring his body back to be buried in Lebanon.
Eddy Mamo, a 26-year-old, was doing the one thing we strive to do, pursuing his dreams in a place he thought could give him a future.
Mamo left Lebanon to pursue his dreams in Brazil and to change his status as a "stateless" individual two years ago. Unfortunately, he was shot dead in the streets of Brazil and died on June 30.
"Deprived of his native right of an ID and armed with courage he sought his dreams in Brazil, where destiny took him away from his sisters who are also fighting for their rights," the Zoomaal crowdfunding page says.
His family, including his parents and two sisters, are working hard to bring his body back to be buried in Lebanon, a place he'd been longing to come back to since he left two years ago.
The family has launched a Zoomaal crowdfunding campaign to bring back their loved one's body to the only place he's ever been able to call home.
"Today the least we can do is to make one of his dreams come true, going back to his home country for a final reunion with his family. For this bitter purpose we are opening a fund to help get his sisters and his body back. Every penny, prayer and share counts to accomplish this noble mission," the family said on the crowdfunding page .
"I am me and that's all I can be...I'm not perfect and never wanted to be...but I am happy with who I am even with what people think of me and I'm great to be me," Eddy Mamo is quoted as saying.
