The Lebanese Civil War tore the country apart, ransacking the lives of all who participated as well as the lives of those who didn't. Its effects remain to this day. While we all suffer because of what this war brought on our country, no one suffers more than the families of those who went missing during the war, whose fates remain unknown to their families and friends.

Fushat 'Amal, a website dedicated to the stories of these people, hopes to change that. Through sharing the stories of the people lost during the war, it aims at bringing the families together in order to shed light on the disappearances to those who did not witness first-hand the horrors of the war.

According to the website, it "is an interactive digital space designed to bring to the public some of the individual stories of the thousands of persons who went missing in Lebanon over the past four decades, and whose families continue to struggle to learn their fate."

Check out the website to learn more about their activities and campaigns, and read below some of the heartbreaking stories shared on their website.
