Muslim beauty vlogger Maroua Bekkouche, otherwise known as The Doll Beauty, released a video following the Nice attack, that has since gone viral, addressing the Mr. Terrorist we have all come to fear.
In her video, Bekkouche addresses the rise of Islamophobia and the irrational link between Islam and the attacks that have been taking lives all around the world in Syria, Iraq, France, Germany and countless others.
The 20-year-old vlogger was born in Algeria but has lived in Nice eve since she was 3 years old. Bekkouche will not let the word "terrorist" define her and countless other Muslims who have been faced with hatred and bigotry following the rise of ISIS.
"Of course I may not be the ambassador of Islam on Youtube, and believe me it is not my goal. But, what I can tell you with certainty is that the values I have been taught since I was a child until now have absolutely nothing to do with what you see on newspapers, on TV, or even what you read on social media," she says in the video.
Bekkouche doesn't just want Mr. Terrorist to know that he does not have the right to commit these horrific acts in the name of Allah, but also wants the world to know that Muslims do not bear the responsibility of these acts. They do not "need" to apologize on behalf of Mr. Terrorist.
The video has since garnered more than one million views on Youtube.
