Turkish lawmakers erupted into a fist fight on Wednesday after debates over constitutional amendments package reached a tipping point.
Lawmakers had been discussing one of the 18 articles that compose the constitutional reform package, put forward by the governing AK party.
The specific article pertains to ending "parliament's authorization to inspect ministers and the Cabinet."
It was passed despite the brawl.
Members of Parliament from the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the Republican People's Party (CHP) stand at opposing ends when it comes to the package. The package calls for Erdogan to be able to appoint and dismiss government ministers, take back the leadership of the ruling party and govern till 2029.
Opponents fear the changes will give too much power to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Thirteen articles are still to be debated and voted on, Anadolu said.
