Saudi Arabia is known as a bastion of conservative Islamic Wahhabism, a land where where woman still cannot drive and there are religious police to enforce Shariah law.
And it seems that one Moroccan entrepreneur has seen this as his opportunity to open a sex shop. In Mecca.
Yes, you read that right.
The store will be fully Shariah-compliant and offer a wide-range of imam-approved sexual products, such as candles and creams.
Sounds extra sexy. There will not be any pornographic DVDs or sex toys, because those are haram. The idea is to sell products that “increase feelings of sensuality and… improve the atmosphere between the couple," the owner, Abdelaziz Aouragh, told Arabian Business .
And while we are sure sexy candles and nice massage oils can go a long way to "improving the atmosphere" between a couple, we're pretty sure Saudi Arabia already had a store like this. It's called the Body Shop .
