A sudden change of weather took over Egyptian streets Sunday.

"Proud to be an Alexandrian. Awesome weather."

In the coastal city of Alexandria, things to took a quick turn to the worst.

"Alexandria's skies right now."

With heavy rains and nonstop hail, the city flooded.

"A disaster in Alexandria. The winter drowned the city to the point where in some places, you cannot drive. Boats are the way to go."

Due to the extreme weather, a power cable fell in the water on the streets, killing seven people.

"As Alexandria drowns, don't just blame the governor but blame the nation for its constant state of corruption and inadequacy."

Alexandrians are infuriated as private properties were damaged and no immediate help was provided by authorities.

"The police and the people wear the same undergarments."

After the widespread anger, the Alexandrian governor was forced to resigned his post.

President Abdel Fatah Al Sisi called for an urgent meeting with all cabinet members on Monday. It remains unclear as to what exactly authorities are doing to deal with Sunday's devastation.

However, people in Egypt took matters onto their own hands, creating a crowdfunding campaign to support people in Alexandria in any way possible.
