After tweeting a sexist message making fun of women's parking ability, Etisalat Misr has issued an apology.

"We apologize if anything we said upset you, Etisalat respects all people"

In an attempt to be funny, Egypt's Etisalat Misr  mobile carrier mocked women, claiming it takes them 15 minutes to park as opposed to men, who take one minute.

The caption on the tweet reads "The difference between a guy and a girl while parking their cars."

Etisalat Misr is a subsidiary of UAE-based Etisalat, in which the state-run Emirates Investment Authority holds a majority of the shares.

It's a shame to see that although we're in 2016, the sexist comments and claims that women don't know how to drive or park still come up. It's a bigger shame to see that an organization as big as Etisalat is using sexism in an attempt to make a joke.

Driving is a skill acquired through practice, just as advertising is a skill acquired through learning and practice. Neither are gender-based skills, if that's even a thing.

Some of us know how to do it and some of us clearly don't.

*Shameful Etisalat. This is very shameful.*

*A stupid tweet indeed.*
