" Gods of Egypt " is an upcoming Hollywood film featuring ancient Egyptian deities. The film, which is directed and co-written by Alex Proyas, will star famed celebs such as Gerard Butler and Geoffrey Rush .

The film, which is set to be released on Feb. 26, 2016, is already causing major controversy for many reasons, including the fact that it was shot in Australia and not Egypt.

The casting of the stars participating in the film is also causing an uproar.

"None of the women in #GodsOfEgypt are Black or Arab. Chadwick Boseman is the only actor of African descent in the entire main cast," one Twitter user stated . "Y'all really think we're white? Ancient Egyptians weren't white, modern Egyptians aren't white," said another Egyptian Twitter user.

Furthermore, a campaign to boycott the movie has launched. " Boycott this Mess: Hollywood is Making Another Movie that Whitwashes Egypt " is actively pointing out the faults and unfathomable inaccuracies in the film and are asking people to not only boycott the movie but the entire team behind it, saying "that they should all know better."

So far, people from all walks of life and different races, agree with the statements made against the film.

Following " Exodus: Gods and Kings " and the inaccurate depiction of ancient Egyptians, "Gods of Egypt" may prove to be yet another disaster.
