If you want to spend more than 17 hours in the air, your dream has come with and in February you will be able to board an Emirates flight from Dubai to Panama City.

The airline is hailing the addition of the 17 hour and 35 minute westward flight as the "longest non-stop flight" in the world. Australia's Qantas Airways currently has the longest nonstop flight in the world, between Sydney and Dallas.

The Qantas flights clicks in at 13,804 kilometers - slightly more than the distance between Dubai and Panama City (13,792) – so Qantas may be able to hold onto the longest flight by distance, once the exact path for the Emirates is known.

But really, lets be honest, when you're flying half-way around the world, passengers are going to care much less about a few kilometers than the time they spend in the air. At least the flight should be comfortable, with Emirates consistently ranked as one of the best in the world.
