With #Oscars2016 invading the world last night, there's no missing out on all the good fashion that took over the red carpet. Considering that Arab designers, including Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad, stole the Academy Award show in 2015, we were expecting the same to happen again this year. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.

Elie Saab 's absence was especially shocking. Racked, the smart source for fashion, looked at five different award shows, including the Oscars, over the past three years and this is what they found:

For the past three years, Elie Saab was among the most worn designers at award shows, ranking among the top four.

With a special focus on the Oscars, Elie Saab was the top designer. Key word being "was."

In 2015, some of the world's most famous actresses, including Jennifer Lopez and Emma Stone, dazzled in Elie Saab at the Oscars.

But where was Elie Saab this year?

Despite a cryptic teaser that was posted on Instagram Saturday, there seemed to be no Elie Saab in sight on the red carpet. Did the king of couture dress someone relatively minor at the award show? Or was there a last-minute costume change and Saab got axed from the red carpet?

Despite Saab's absence, Arab designers weren't completely left out.

A few celebrities, including Jessica Biel, Lydia Hearst, Priyanka Chopra, rocked Zuhair Murad dresses while Giuliana Rancic perfected a George Chakra Couture.

We think no celebrity wanted to be compared to Jennifer Lopez's stunning Elie Saab dress last year, so decided to avoid the Lebanese star altogether. We have no doubt Elie Saab will reclaim his spotlight soon.
