Egyptian startup Instabug has raised $1.7 million seed round led by Accel Venture Partners, after being a part of Y Combinator 's winter program.

Angel investors including co-founder of Cloudera, Amr Awadallah and CEO of MoPub, Jim Payne also took part in the seed round.

With the investment, Instabug aims to expand its app offerings beyond just bug reporting, as well as open up an office in San Francisco, according to TechCrunch .

“We’re excited to draw the attention of Silicon Valley investors to Egypt, and help support the growing startup scene there,” co-founder of Instabug Omar Gabr said, according to TechCrunch.

After Instabug won the 6th edition of the MIT Enterprise Forum Arab Startup Competition back in 2013, the startup took off in the Egyptian startup scene, attracting investment from Egyptian angels that same year.

Instabug has now raised a total of $2.12 million from three rounds.

Instabug allows developers to trace bugs by adding a single line of code to their app . It's now reporting across 12,000 apps and is present in almost 300 million iOS and Android devices.
