The Dubai Tour kicked off on Tuesday, and 128 cyclists from around the world are now making their way through Dubai to cover a distance of 863 kilometers in just 5 days.
16 professional teams from all over the world, with superstar cyclists such as Mark Cavendish from Britain, Marcel Kittel from Germany and Elia Viviani from Italy, are participating in the race -- and people are loving it!
Cycling enthusiasts are lining the streets to watch the event. Among the spectators is none other than the ruler of Dubai himself, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Thankfully, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed was there and was able to take photos of his father enjoying the participants whizzing around.
Last year, German cyclist Marchel Kittel took home the gold, and he seems to be in the lead right now as well.
Then again Day 2 has only just begun, and there is a long way to go.
The Dubai Tour was launched in 2014, with this being the 4th edition. It started as part of the UCI Asia Tour, a part of a series of bicycle road races that begun in 2005.
