Residents living near Dubai Marina were shocked on Thursday afternoon as the waters turned to orange mock.
The water remains discolored today, according to Khaleej Times. Authorities have not officially announced the cause of the phenomenon, but many on social media are speculating that it may have been caused by some sort of leak.
A maintenance crew told Khaleej Times that the water was most likely a groundwater problem from a nearby construction site.
The Dubai Electricity & Water Authority continues to investigate.
