Remember when Emirates Road became known as Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road? Well, something like that is happening again, except this time the change is honoring the king of Saudi Arabia.
Al Sufouh Road is now formally known as King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street!
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid decided to honor Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud by renaming a street after him "in recognition and appreciation of his role in supporting the causes of the Arab and Muslim world."
The gesture also comes just prior to Saudi National Day, which falls on Sept. 23.
Some of Dubai's essential economic zones including Dubai Media City and Dubai Internet City are located on King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street.
Let's hope GPS navigation doesn't take you on a route to Saudi though...
