Video: Loom's original 1990 Intro

One fine day in 1990, Loom by Lucasfilm Games (which later became LucusArts) appeared on the scene. Its pixelated charm and simple click and point gameplay coupled with musical note sequences had an addictive quality and unique twist. This fantasy adventure video game sees the main protagonist, Bobbin Threadbare, caught up in the intrigue of a futuristic world. A fairy tale mix of swans, Great Guilds, ‘Weavers’ who cast drafts (aka magical spells powered by musical notes), ‘patterns’ and an evil entity called Chaos come together to create a fascinating plot. Add to that Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake which breaks the silence at crucial moments in Loom and you have a game that’s worth remembering.

24 years on, Loom still has a fan base. Its average rating on Gamespot is 8.6 and it's available for download on STEAM .
