Over the course of three years photographers Manar Moursi and David Puig took pictures of the chairs of Cairo, collecting over a thousand snapshots of the humble piece of furniture that scatters the sidewalks.
Taking Polaroid photos, the two collected interviews as they went along, creating "a portrait of Cairo seen from its thousands of curious street chairs," according to their campaign page .
And now the duo is hoping to crowdfund $19,000 to publish their book, "Sidewalk Salon: 1001 Street Chairs of Cairo," where they will combine the interviews and photos with fiction and poetry pieces from various artists. So far, they've raised nearly $6,000 on Indiegogo, with 24 days left to their campaign.
If the book is anything like their #1001ChairsCairo video below, we hope they make their goal and then some.
