Remember 14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed who got kicked out of school in Texas for building a clock, which apparently looked like a bomb?
Well, after doing a bit of an international tour, he just received a scholarship from the Qatar Foundation.
Mohamed and his family were invited to visit Qatar Foundation earlier this month in recognition of Ahmed’s creative capabilities.
His story and ingenuity has earned him invitations to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University and the White House.
He met US President Barack Obama at the ‘White House Astronomy Night’.
After accepting the Qatar Foundation scholarship, Mohamed said:
"I was really impressed with everything that Qatar Foundation has to offer and the campuses are really cool. I got to meet other kids who are also really interested in science and technology. I think I will learn a lot and also have lots of fun there,” according to a press release.
