During Ramadan, YouTube launched its very first award, The Lantern, for brands advertising during the holy month. Brands were left competing for better performance and higher engagement, somewhat similar to what happens during the Super Bowl in the United States.

Regionally, 69 brands submitted their Ramadan campaigns for the award, and the winner has finally been announced.

VIVA Kuwait has taken home the Lantern Award for most engaging YouTube Ramadan campaign!

The humorous two-part ad, "Where is my bowl," focused on the misplacement of cookware after having visiting guests for dinner. The campaign had one of the highest rates of organic views, with nearly 6 million views in total.

“The engagement metrics for this campaign are just incredible,” said Alex Brunori, head of agencies at Google and spearhead of The Lantern Award.

Competing with brands like Pepsi and Zain, Kuwait's telecom company definitely showed them who's boss.
