When it comes to romance, the Arab world is packed with stories that will fill the hearts of all the hopeless romantics out there.
The latest one is that of an Egyptian couple. Hossam Atef Farouk and Salma El Cabarity have been making the rounds online after the couple got engaged over the weekend.
It all started when Farouk posted a screenshot of the couple's first encounter - which happened via a Facebook message six years ago - alongside a photo of the couple's engagement party years later.
The Facebook post has garnered nearly 10,000 shares and nearly 40,000 likes at the time of writing.
Farouk first approached Cabarity when he was 17-years-old. She was 16 at the time.
Farouk sent Cabarity a message on Facebook, asking her if she'd like to get to know him. It was quite an awkward beginning to say the least ... but Cabarity said yes!
And six years later ... this adorable couple got engaged!
Just like any relationship, the couple has gone through both the highs and lows.
What kept their relationship going was the fact that their minds just clicked, Farouk told StepFeed.
"Because we met at such a young age, you could say we basically grew up together," he added.
Farouk is the owner of Antikka Photography, and Cabarity is a certified personal trainer.
Their story is incredibly heartwarming
