Beirut is pulling headlines in the international media for its nascent tech scene and it seems as if the startup world in Lebanon just got another big uplift with the launch of AltCity's Bootcamp this Wednesday.
While the bootcamp is not an accelerator or incubator, the idea is to train the city's entrepreneurs to develop the business accumen that they will need to excel in enterprise. The project is being supported by Lebanon's Central Bank (BDL) through the Circular 331 program,
With a focus on rapid startup development, the cycles are hyper-short. The first cycle lasts only two weeks, from May 27 - June 10. The application deadline is May 6.
We're not sure how much of a boost two-weeks can really deliver, but considering that three new accelerator/incubators are opening up shop in Lebanon in 2015 (Speed, UK-Lebanon Technology Hub and Flat6Labs) Bootcamp's launch comes at the perfect time.
