A teenage American model has reportedly sold her virginity online to an Abu Dhabi-based businessman for a whopping 2.5 million Euros ($2.95 million).
The Sun reports that the 19-year-old model, who goes by the name Giselle, offered her virginity for auction on the controversial German website Cinderella Escorts.
According to the young model, the winning bidder is a millionaire businessman from Abu Dhabi, who outbid a Hollywood star and a politician from Russia.
"This is a dream come true"
Speaking to The Sun, Giselle said she decided to sign up to the website to fund her university education as well as her travels.
"I would never have dreamed that the bid would rise so high," she said. "This is a dream come true."
Responding to the negative feedback she has received, Giselle said she believes selling her virginity is a personal choice, one she considers liberating.
"I think the trend to sell your virginity is a form of emancipation and I am shocked about people who are against allowing a woman to sell her virginity," she explained.
"If I want to spend my first time with someone who is not my first love, that's my decision."
She went on to say that women should be able to freely express their sexuality without being subject to scrutiny.
She added, "In retrospect, how many would probably give up their first time if they could have 2.5 million Euros instead?"
As for the logistics of the arrangement, the model is set to meet the unnamed businessman in Germany. Cinderella Escorts said it will provide a security guard to accompany her there.
According to Evening Standard, a spokesperson for the agency said, "We organize the hotel, stay close to the hostel as a contact person in case of problems and the girl can cancel the meeting at any time."
He added, "There are some girls who are looking for a buyer for their virginity on their own. It is safer to run this on our platform."
What is Cindrella Escorts?
The agency first caught public attention in 2016, when 18-year-old Russian model Allexandra Khefren sold her virginity for around $2.6 million.
Run by 27-year-old German Jan Zakobielski, the website offers prostitution services and claims to have several adult film stars on board.
Twenty percent of each deal goes as a fee to the website.
When it comes to the section regarding virgins, the agency assures bidders that the women have been "inspected" by a doctor to confirm they have never had sex.
Zakobielski told Forbes the women are also assessed by a psychiatrist, who confirms they are mature enough to make the decision.
He has previously said his business is "highly successful."
"No-one makes these young women do anything they don't want to do. They have their own minds and their own opinions on sexuality."
It is worth noting that prostitution is legal in Germany.
