Bahrain's Tourism and Exhibitions Authority has big plans to transform the kingdom into a "prime wedding destination."
The organization's 2016/17 action plan highlights the wedding sector as a key growth area, according to Bahrain News Agency .
The plan aims to develop local offerings related to weddings such as fashion, music, cosmetics, hospitality, rental cars and aviation.
"The tourism sector in the kingdom boasts a wide range of offerings and benefits and our plans to focus on the wedding sector is a part of the diverse portfolio that Bahrain can offer its visitors," Sheikh Khalid bin Humood, head of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, said. "We will be promoting the plan through various channels including social media, the tourism website and across the MBC channels."
An advisor to the tourism authority stressed the importance of the kingdom's decision for numerous sectors of the economy.
"The authority will be focusing its efforts on elevating the sector through various methods, including hosting a workshop in September to develop the skills of wedding planners in Bahrain with the support of an international accredited company," the advisor said. "We will also be inviting wedding management companies from India and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Bahrain in order to further understand the capabilities of the kingdom."
The tourism authority also plans on promoting the country as a wedding destination at several international exhibitions.
So, what locations can the kingdom offer to brides and grooms?
Well, there are the beaches...

And of course, fancy hotels.
