Beyoncé's never fails to impress us with her performances, and that's exactly what she did at the 2017 Grammys

As she took the stage with a stunning gold-studded outfit ... we couldn't help but feel like she borrowed some inspiration from Cleopatra

And looking back at Beyoncé's history, it's very likely she did.

Cleopatra and Queen Nefertiti have been inspiring the singer for over a decade.

We even think that "Queen Bey" may have been a spin-off of "Queen Nefertiti" ... but that's a discussion for another time.

1. It all started when Queen Bey decided to go all out with her Cleopatra outfit at the 2017 Grammys

2. The "resemblance is uncanny" kind of moment, really

Like can't tell if it's Beyoncé or Cleopatra on stage

3. She's been claiming she's Cleopatra since 2002...

4. When she played Foxxy Cleopatra in Austin Powers

5. In 2006, Beyoncé's depiction of Deena Jones as Cleopatra in Dreamgirls brought it home

6. But, it's not just Cleopatra. A mini Queen Nefertiti shows up in her recent pregnancy photoshoot

7. Actually, her entire photoshoot was inspired by Ancient Egyptian colors and motifs

8. She tries to channel her inner Egyptian goddess every chance she gets

9. Her song "Sorry" even featured a Nefertiti-esque hairstyle ...

If you still don't see it, just look a little closer
