Growing up in Saudi Arabia – Riyadh in particular – is complicated. You have to adjust to a lot of things, especially as a female. For instance, when you think it's a good idea to go out to the mall only to have your entire shopping day ruined because of the amount of Hai'a (Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice ) you encounter.
1. It starts with you and your friend being bored to death
2. Then your friend suddenly decides that the two of you should go out to the mall and you're both like
Omg! I'm so excited! Let's do it!
3. You go there and prepare yourself to buy everything!
4. After you're done, you sit there feeling like a million dollars
5. Then suddenly... you hear the Hai'a scream
6. You turn around and find the Hai'a right behind you
That's it. That's how I'm going to die.
7. You try to run away but you can't because they're looking at you like that
8. You realize that you have no option but to get out of their way in the quietest way possible
