At any given moment, the Middle East’s largest shopping mall can host thousands of people who are looking for all sorts of entertainment. But a visit to Dubai Mall is never complete without bumping into these types of tourists who make people watching an even more enjoyable experience!
Let’s meet them ...
1. The invasion in Louis Vuitton
To visit the Louis Vuitton in Dubai Mall, you are going to have to wrestle your way through hordes of loud tourists who seem to have an unbreakable bond with that luxury French brand.
2. The window display enthusiast
How many times have you seen a tourist taking a selfie with a poster of Christiano Ronaldo outside a sports shop? Or posing in front of a Victoria’s Secret display window? That is called a selfie with a view!
3. The shopping divas
You won’t see them outside the vicinity of Fashion Avenue. They will be struggling to balance on their stilettos as they carry their body weight’s worth of Chanel and Hermes shopping bags while sipping skinny frappés from Armani Café.
4. The decency rules challengers
They simply don’t care about the dress code signs plastered all over the mall. Walking around in their miniskirts and see-through dresses is more important than respecting the laws of the land!
5. The lobster-red European family
Meet Franz and Ingrid and their kids: Gustav and Agnes. They spent their day happily roasting their skin under 50 degree sun and now they are visiting the world’s largest mall and taking photos with the wooden camel inside the Souk.
6. The documentary makers
They walk around the mall with their cameras pointing at you and at any moving target. Someone needs to tell those camera-happy/stalker/weirdo tourists that this is not a documentary and I do not want to appear in their Snapchat story!
7. The picture-perfect family from Europe
They look so beautiful that you just want to keep staring at them. Both mum and dad can pass for fashion models while the baby inside the pram already looks like the winner of the World’s Next Top Model.
8. The Saudi movie buffs
Due to the ban on cinemas in Saudi Arabia, Saudi visitors are happy to hibernate inside Dubai Mall cinemas for hours watching five movies in a row while binging on caramel popcorn and nachos.
